Performance-Modus

Jede andere neu geöffnete Notenansicht startet ohne Performance-Modus.

So kommst du heraus:

Was im Performance-Modus gilt

Manual › Playing & stage

Performance mode

Performance mode is the stage mode: it locks everything that could disturb you while playing or be triggered by accident. Turning pages by tap, pedal and quick actions keeps working.

Switching performance mode on

You start a setlist straight in performance mode: tap Perform (performance mode) (triangle) in the Setlists overview, see Playing a setlist.

In a viewer that is already open you switch it on in one of these ways:

  • Tap the centre to show the controls, then tap the padlock button Performance mode.
  • Tap the padlock (Performance mode on/off) in the quick action box.
  • Put the action Performance mode on/off on a pedal key, a tap zone or a MIDI action, see Pedal actions.

The controls disappear, and the padlock in the quick action box is highlighted.

Every other newly opened viewer starts without performance mode. If you follow a leading device via coupling, your device switches along when the leading device turns performance mode on or off.

Leaving performance mode

So that you don't end the mode by accident, there is no visible button on the page. This is how you get out:

  • Long-press the top right corner. Hold your finger for a moment (about half a second) on the very top right corner – an area about the size of a fingertip. Then the mode ends. A short tap there does nothing.
  • Tap the padlock in the quick action box (if the box is shown).
  • Use a pedal key, tap zone or MIDI action that has Performance mode on/off.

Afterwards the controls, tools and back button work as usual again.

What applies in performance mode

This keeps working:

  • Turning pages with tap zones, swiping, pedal, keyboard and MIDI – every page with its saved zoom. Here a swipe turns even on a zoomed page.
  • The quick action box – e.g. night mode, auto-scroll and, while it runs, auto-scroll faster/slower.
  • A tap on link points and smart buttons.
  • Auto-scroll, audio playback and the metronome, if started before or triggered by pedal/quick action. Of the metronome only the visual beat stays visible.
  • The Up next: … hint on the last page of a score.
  • The tinted tap zones (if switched on) – without the icons of zones that do nothing now (such as the three lines for the controls in the centre).
  • Coupling with other devices (following, book mode, remote control). Its state is shown only as a small dot at the top left.

This is locked:

  • The zoom stays as it is: two fingers, Ctrl + mouse wheel, double tap and dragging change nothing. Set up a page's section beforehand.
  • The controls cannot be shown – not even with a tap in the centre.
  • The viewer cannot be closed: the back button and Esc have no effect.
  • The annotation editor does not open, not even with the stylus; an open editor is closed when you switch the mode on.
  • The Setlist and Bookmarks & marks overviews do not open.
  • Smart buttons cannot be edited (long press), only triggered.
  • The keyboard shortcut overview (F1/?) and the panels of the audio player, metronome and pitch pipe are not shown.

Quiet on stage:

  • No dialogs, no messages and no tips appear.
  • Syncing with your group pauses – in the same Wi-Fi, through shared folders and through cloud folders. It catches up as soon as you leave the mode.
  • The screen stays on as long as Notenpult is open (this applies to the whole app). On the iPad this needs iPadOS 16.4 or later – otherwise Notenpult shows a hint under Settings, and you switch off auto-lock yourself. See Screen does not stay on.
  • Notenpult remembers the spot on every page turn. If the app crashes, it opens the same page the next time it starts – but without performance mode, so switch it on again.
