  • orange: Verbindung verloren – verbinde neu …,

Typischer Einsatz: Die Bandleiterin blättert, alle anderen Tablets folgen.

So geht's:

  1. Auf dem leitenden Gerät: Werkzeuge › Kopplung › Leiten. Das Blatt zeigt dann Leitet · n verbunden.

So geht's:

  1. Auf dem linken Gerät: Werkzeuge › Kopplung › Buchmodus: linke Seite.

So geht's:

  1. Auf dem Tablet: Werkzeuge › Kopplung › Leiten.

Was wo geht:

Manual › Playing together

Stage coupling

Several devices turn pages together: one device leads, the others follow – or two tablets together show an open music book. A phone can serve as a remote control.

Overview

You find coupling in the viewer under Tools › Coupling. A sheet opens with all options:

  • Lead – this device sets score and page (Lead and follow),
  • Book mode: left page – two devices as a double page (Book mode),
  • devices found nearby to follow, or to be the right page next to another,
  • Connection – how the devices find each other (Connection).

Requirements:

  • Only devices of the same group can couple. So open the same group on all devices (see Groups).
  • Coupling only starts when you choose it. Nothing couples by itself.
  • Coupling is a stage function: it keeps running in performance mode too. Only data sync pauses there.

While a coupling runs, a small dot in a corner of the viewer shows its state – without dialogs or messages:

  • green: Connected,
  • yellow: Waiting for a partner,
  • orange: Connection lost – reconnecting …,
  • blue: a missing score is being fetched.

If the connection drops, each device simply keeps playing on its own and reconnects by itself. End coupling in the same sheet ends the coupling.

Lead and follow

Typical use: the band leader turns pages, all other tablets follow.

How to:

  1. On the leading device: Tools › Coupling › Lead. The sheet then shows Leading · n connected.
  2. On each following device: Tools › Coupling. Among the devices found, Follow Anna appears – tap it.
  3. Before that, two switches let you choose what to take over: Follow page turns (turns along) and Follow score changes (opens the same score as the leader).

The following device opens the leader's program, i.e. the same setlist or score. If a score is missing, the device fetches it from the leader. If one of the leader's scores is private, it stays unavailable to other people (only the leader's own devices get it); the sheet then shows how many scores are affected. The following device skips placeholders in the setlist.

You can change both switches at any time, even in performance mode: via the quick action box or as the action Follow page turns on/off or Follow score changes on/off on a pedal, a MIDI key or a tap zone (see Actions). This way you can, for example, turn back briefly without disturbing the leader.

Book mode across two devices

Two tablets side by side show a double page – like an open music book.

How to:

  1. On the left device: Tools › Coupling › Book mode: left page.
  2. On the right device: Tools › Coupling and tap Book mode: right page next to Anna.

How book mode behaves:

  • Turning on one device turns both. Pressing at the same time counts only once.
  • The double pages follow the double-page view of the left device (it turns by two pages or by one page).
  • Every score starts on the left. If a score has an odd number of pages, the right page stays empty at the end.
  • Half pages and the vertical view rest meanwhile; whole pages are always shown.
  • Without a partner each device simply turns page by page.

Book mode keeps running in performance mode too.

Remote control (phone)

A phone (or another device) can remote-control one of your own devices that is leading – for example the tablet on the music stand while you sit at the piano.

How to:

  1. On the tablet: Tools › Coupling › Lead.
  2. On the phone: tap the Remote control icon in the top app bar (library, setlists, settings).
  3. Choose Control Anna.

The remote control shows the list and the current page. Turn one page forward or back with the big arrows, switch with Previous score / Next score, or tap an entry of the list. If nothing is open on the tablet, it says Nothing is open on that device.

Good to know:

  • Only your own, paired devices can be remote-controlled (see Pair your own devices).
  • The controlling device needs no sheet music.
  • Leaving the remote control screen ends the remote control.

Connection: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth

At the top of the coupling sheet (and in the remote control) choose Connection:

  • Automatic – local network first; devices found only nearby via Bluetooth are reached over Bluetooth. If the Wi-Fi fails, the devices reconnect over Bluetooth.
  • Wi-Fi/LAN – network only.
  • Bluetooth – for stages without usable Wi-Fi: devices within a few metres. Page turns stay fast, but fetching a missing score takes long (large PDFs: several minutes). So get the scores onto the devices beforehand by sync.

Devices found via Bluetooth carry a Bluetooth icon. Bluetooth asks for permission the first time (Android: Nearby devices). If the app says Bluetooth is not allowed or switched off., switch Bluetooth on or allow access in the system settings.

What works where:

  • Windows and Android: everything – lead, follow, book mode, remote control, over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Android only while the app is in the foreground. Leading over Bluetooth needs a Bluetooth chip that supports it.
  • Browser Chrome/Edge: only over Bluetooth and only as a participant: follow, right book page, remote control – not lead. Tap Choose Bluetooth device … for this; the browser lists nearby devices of the group.
  • iPad/Safari: no coupling possible (no Bluetooth in the browser, no direct Wi-Fi).
