Inhalte liegen verschlüsselt in Drive.

13. Deine Rechte

Du hast das Recht auf Auskunft (Art. 15 DSGVO), Berichtigung (Art. 16 DSGVO), Löschung (Art. 17 DSGVO), Einschränkung der Verarbeitung (Art. 18 DSGVO) und Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20 DSGVO). Wende dich dazu an info@imb24.com.

Last updated: October 2026

This policy covers the website notenpult.imb24.com (home page, download page, these pages), the downloads below /releases/, the web app at /app/ and the Notenpult app for Windows, Android and the browser.

1. Controller

imb24 GmbH

Represented by the managing director Dipl.-Ing. Carsten Wolters
E-mail: info@imb24.com · Phone: +49 151 58110445

We are not required to appoint a data protection officer under Art. 37 GDPR and Section 38 BDSG. Please send questions about data protection to info@imb24.com.

2. Overview

Notenpult works offline, without an account and without a server of its own. Your sheet music, setlists, annotations, settings and your profile stay on your devices. The app sends no usage data, no crash reports and no statistics – to nobody. It only opens a connection when you do something for it (section 8).

We ourselves only receive personal data when your browser or the app fetches something from our server: the website, a download, the files of the web app or the update information (sections 4, 6 and 8.1). The website sets no cookies, uses no tracking and no analytics and loads nothing from third-party servers.

The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest; we name it in the respective section) and, for the automatic update check, your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

3. Hosting

The website, downloads and web app are stored on a server of Contabo GmbH, Aschauer Straße 32a, 81549 Munich, in a data center in Germany. Contabo processes the data on our behalf under a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The server only holds static program and website files, no user data. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is secure and reliable operation.

4. Accessing the website, downloads and logs

When you open the website, download a file or the app fetches the update information, your device necessarily transmits data such as the IP address, date and time, requested address, browser or program identifier and, where applicable, the referring page. Our reverse proxy and web server use the IP address only to deliver the response. For downloads below /releases/ the proxy also counts requests per IP address (for IPv6 per address range) in memory to prevent overload (at most 60 requests per minute); nothing is stored.

The proxy writes no access logs. Our web server logs each request without the IP address: time, requested address (without parameters after the “?”), status code, response size and browser or program identifier (for the app: “Notenpult”, version number and operating system). The referring page is not stored. Error logs only contain the proxy's internal address, not your IP address. The logs are continuously overwritten in the server's log management and deleted after 30 days at the latest.

Before the logs are deleted, our server counts anonymous totals from them once a day: downloads per file and version, fetches of the update information per operating system and app version, and visits to the home page, the download page and the web app. These statistics contain only numbers per day – no IP addresses, no individual requests, no identifiers and nothing that could be attributed to a person; they are therefore not personal data and are kept without time limit. We use them to see how much Notenpult is used. The app itself sends nothing for this (no telemetry).

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is delivering the pages and files, finding errors and protecting the server against misuse.

5. No cookies, language choice in the browser

The website sets no cookies. If you choose the language at the top (DE/EN), your browser stores this choice in local storage (localStorage, key notenpult-lang) so that the next page appears in the same language. The value stays on your device and is not transmitted to us; you can delete it via your browser's site data. This is strictly necessary for the service you request (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). The download page reads the current version information (/releases/stable.json) from our own server.

6. Web app in the browser (iPad, Chrome, Edge)

The web app at /app/ stores its program files (service worker) and your library in your browser's storage on your device; your private keys are kept there as a non-exportable key. We have no access to it. This storage is strictly necessary for the app you request (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). On start the browser checks whether a new version exists and fetches files from our server for this (section 4).

The web app loads all its parts (graphics engine, fonts) only from our own server; no content is loaded from third parties (e.g. Google).

7. The app: everything on your device

We do not receive data that the app only processes on your device. You can delete it yourself in the app or by deleting the library or uninstalling the app.

8. Network features – only after your action

The following features only open a connection when you switch them on or start them. In performance mode all sync traffic rests; only a stage coupling you started yourself keeps running.

8.1 Update check (Windows)

The app only checks automatically if you have agreed – at most once a day and never in performance mode. You trigger “Check for updates now” and downloading an update yourself. Only the version information at notenpult.imb24.com/releases/ is requested, without identifiers or data about you; technically our server receives the data listed in section 4. The legal basis for the automatic check is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time under Settings › About; for checks and downloads you trigger yourself it is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (providing secure updates). Updates are signed; the app verifies signature and checksum before installing.

The Microsoft Store version and the Android version (only through Google Play) have no such update check: the store updates the app there, and it never contacts our server.

8.2 Groups and sync over Wi-Fi

If you switch on Wi-Fi sync for a group (also by joining, inviting or pairing), the app announces itself in the local network via mDNS – with a random name and an anonymous group tag, without device or person names – and connects directly to the group's devices. The connections are end-to-end encrypted; only members' devices receive data. No imb24 server is involved. On Windows the firewall asks the first time whether the app may be reachable in the private network.

8.3 Sync with a browser/iPad by QR code (WebRTC)

The devices exchange the connection data by scanning each other's QR codes. The connection runs only in the local network, without a signalling or STUN server, and is end-to-end encrypted.

8.4 Stage coupling (lead/follow, book mode, remote control)

Coupling runs in the local network or over Bluetooth LE. Over Bluetooth the leading device broadcasts an opaque, regularly changing group tag, but no names. In the browser you choose the device yourself in the browser's Bluetooth chooser. These connections are encrypted as well and only for devices of the same group.

8.5 Shared folder and export files

When syncing via a shared folder, the app writes encrypted files whose names do not reveal titles into the folder you choose. If that folder is mirrored by a sync program (e.g. OneDrive, Nextcloud, Syncthing), its provider processes these files under your contract with it.

8.6 Cloud folder: WebDAV (e.g. Nextcloud)

If you set up a WebDAV cloud folder, the app connects directly to the server you enter (HTTPS only). The access data stays only in this device's key storage. Content is transferred encrypted; the server operator sees your IP address, your user account and the number, size and time of the files. The provider you chose is responsible for this processing.

8.7 Cloud folder: Google Drive

If you choose Google Drive, you sign in directly with Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The app only receives the drive.file permission: it sees only the “Notenpult” folder it creates itself, not your other files. The app stores access tokens and your Google account's e-mail address only in your device's key storage. Content is stored encrypted in Drive. Google processes the data as the provider of your account under its own terms (policies.google.com/privacy); a transfer to the USA is possible (EU-US Data Privacy Framework). We registered Notenpult with Google as an application but receive neither your files nor tokens or account data; at most Google provides us with aggregated usage figures (e.g. number of requests). “Disconnect” revokes the access at Google.

8.8 Links

If you paste a link from the clipboard, the app downloads a file from that address only after your confirmation. Smart buttons open links only when you tap them. In both cases the operator of the site receives your IP address; their privacy notices apply.

8.9 Devices and sensors

9. Permissions per platform

PlatformPermissionWhat for, when
AndroidInternet, network and Wi-Fi state, Wi-Fi multicastnetwork features from section 8; no prompt (normal permissions), active only after your action
AndroidCamerascanning QR codes, photographing sheet music; asked on first use
AndroidNearby devices (Bluetooth), location up to Android 11stage coupling over Bluetooth and Bluetooth MIDI; asked on use. Older Android versions require the location permission for Bluetooth scanning – the app does not determine your location
WindowsFirewall (private network), cameraWindows asks on the first Wi-Fi sync or camera access; camera via Windows privacy settings
BrowserCamera, Bluetooth chooser, MIDI, clipboard, persistent storagethe browser asks only when you use the feature

10. Data you share with others

In a group the other members see your display name, your fingerprint and the content you share with them. You decide what you share; imb24 is not involved. If your content contains personal data of others (e.g. names in annotations), please make sure yourself that you may share it.

11. Children

The website and the app are not specifically directed at children. We collect no data through the app; section 4 applies to the website. Children under 16 should only use network features that require an account with another provider (e.g. Google Drive) with their parents' consent.

12. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Personal data is only received by the service provider named in this policy (Contabo) and by authorities where we are legally obliged. A transfer to the USA is only possible as described in section 8.7. Data you send to other providers through the features in section 8 is transferred by you; we do not receive it.

13. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Please contact info@imb24.com. Please note: app data lives only on your devices, and our logs contain no IP addresses – so as a rule we cannot attribute them to a person.

You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR), for example the automatic update check under Settings › About; the lawfulness of the processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Right to object: Where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony (Landesbeauftragte/r für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen), Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.

14. Retention periods at a glance

15. Data security

All connections to this website are encrypted with TLS. Updates are signed with an imb24 key; the app only installs files with a valid signature and matching checksum. Whatever leaves your devices during sync is end-to-end encrypted.

16. Changes

We update this privacy policy when the app, the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies. The German version is legally binding.
